Event Registration

Our purpose for processing data under this section is to be able to run the event to an acceptable standard.

The lawful basis we rely on for processing your personal data is your consent under article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR.

What data we collect

If you wish to attend one of events, you will need to provide your name and contact information.

Why we need your data

We need this data so that we know how many people will be attending the event so that we can provide an acceptable service. We also need this information to communicate with you about the event.

What we do with your data

We use this information to ensure we have a safe and manageable number of attendees at events and so that we can mark events as unavailable or sold out where necessary. We also use this information to provide updates to you about the event through communication platforms.

We may choose to gather statistics around email opening and clicks using standard industry practices to help us monitor and improve our communications with you.

Retention length

The Society will hold the data for six months after the event finishes.

Data processors

We use the Society's account on the Union's G Suite organisation (a service operated by Google) to manage our emails and member lists under this section.

We also use Mailchimp to manage our emails under this section.
