How We Collect Your Data

Some personal data we process is given directly to the Union as a result of the Society's activities when:

  • you sign up to our mailing list
  • you sign up to or attend an event
  • you complete one of our surveys
  • we need to enforce a restriction from one of our events and we already hold enough information to do so
  • you contact us by email or through social media

Some personal data is collected by the Union and later used for the Society's activities (but this data is still directly given to us by you legally) when:

  • you become a member of the Society
  • you do not agree to a restriction from our events, but we need your data to enforce a restriction anyway and so we obtain this data from other areas of the Union

We also get personal data from other people and organisations when:

  • you visit our website
  • you do not agree to a restriction from our events, but we need your data to enforce a restriction anyway and so we obtain this data from another person or organisation
